PUBG Update 35.2: Taego Terrain Destruction, Vehicle Camo Netting, and More
PUBG Update 35.2 brings destructible terrain to Taego and introduces vehicle camo netting, enhancing strategy and stealth options.
Update 35.2 delivered a hefty slice of change to the Battlegrounds, and it was not exactly a quiet patch. The headline acts were the arrival of destructible terrain on Taego, a fresh vehicle camouflage tool, and a wider spread of vending machines. The PC maintenance window ran from May 14, 00:00 to 09:30 UTC, while Console followed on May 22, 01:00 to 09:00 UTC. PC players could look for the next rotation every Wednesday at 02:00 UTC, and Console players every Thursday at 07:00 UTC. Taego sat in the favored map rotation for the first three weeks of the update.

The weekly map probabilities were laid out as follows.
| Week | Taego | Other Map Probabilities |
|---|---|---|
| Weeks 1 and 3 | 33% | Remaining maps 17% each |
| Week 2 | 36% | Fixed and favored maps 18% each, etc. maps 9% |
| Week 4 | Not favored | Fixed and favored maps 22% each, etc. maps 11% |
For Ranked, the map service remained season-based and used Erangel at 25%, Miramar at 25%, Taego at 20%, Rondo at 20%, and Deston at 10%.
Taego Gets a Terrain Twist

The developers dropped the Destructible Terrain feature onto Taego, meaning frag grenades, mortars, Panzerfausts, C4, pickaxes, vehicle explosions, and Red Zone missiles could all chew into the landscape. Some rocky areas of Taego had limited destructibility, and the feature did not apply to Ranked or Custom Match - Esports Mode. On top of that, the Pickaxe and Red Zone joined Taego, while the emergency landing plane was removed. Fixed spawn spots for the Inflatable Boat were added, though the total number of boats stayed the same. The goal was to bring Taego more in line with other maps and open up fresh cover-creating strategies, though destructible buildings were still a Sanhok exclusive.
Vehicle Camo Netting: A Stealthy Ace Up the Sleeve

A new item called Vehicle Camo Netting entered the loot pool in Erangel and Miramar. It sat in the melee weapon slot with a weight of 20, could be equipped and unequipped with the melee weapon key, and was deployed or removed with the interaction key. It could not be deployed on an occupied vehicle, and once netting was on, players could not board that vehicle. Deployment could be canceled midway, and damage, collisions, or movement could interrupt the process. The netting did not reduce or block damage and was destroyed if it took a hit. Its appearance shifted based on the map's overall tone, and a ping marker on a netted vehicle showed a general marker rather than a vehicle marker. Four-wheeled vehicles in Normal Match, Arcade, and Custom Match could use it, with other modes possibly getting a look later.
Vending Machines and Smashable Pots Spread Out

Vending machines spread to Erangel and Taego. The classic boost machine received a visual refresh, and a brand-new medical machine joined the roster. Players could grab bandages, first aid kits, and med kits directly from the medical machines, and a lucky interaction could sometimes hit the jackpot with a bunch of healing items at once. Major buildings around the maps hosted one of the two machine types at random, while Miramar kept its existing machine types and appearance.

Destructible pots also arrived on Erangel, giving players a chance to smash objects for stress relief and extra loot. The Self-AED and Traditional Hanbok Hat were removed from the destructible pot loot pool, and Secret Room Keys now spawned only in Normal Match. The developers said these changes were part of a longer push to unify the battle royale experience across maps.
C4 and Inflatable Boat Tuning

C4 received a behavior overhaul. Instead of being thrown and stuck to surfaces, it was deployed directly and activated after roughly four seconds of placement. Visual effects indicated whether deployment was possible, and C4 could not be selected or used while in a vehicle. It moved from Throwables to the Special Weapons category. When one C4 blast wiped multiple players in its effective range, the player farther from the explosion placed higher.

The Inflatable Boat became a slightly more tempting ride. Maximum speed increased from about 20 km/h to 25 km/h with one player rowing in slot one, and from about 50 km/h to 60 km/h with players in slots two through four sprint tapping. Weight dropped from 40 to 30. The developers kept the buff careful because the boat was meant as a secondary transport tool.
Quality-of-Life Improvements and Chest Additions

The Flare Gun got some long-overdue clarity. Its tooltip was updated, the crosshair better showed whether a special airdrop could be called, and Radio Messages displayed related information when using it or securing the drop. The Zipline Gun's crosshair also told players more clearly whether they could fire. The Same Language Team feature was adjusted to better match language settings. The Hunter's Chest and Archivist's Chest gained new item sets, including a Summer Bikini 2024 set.

Custom Match received options for Destructible Terrain and Destructible Buildings on Sanhok, plus Destructible Terrain on Taego. The Vehicle Camo Netting was added to the Spawn tab and Sandbox Mode. A fresh Survivor Pass was prepared for Update 35.2, C4 moved from Throwables to Misc on the Career - Weapons page, and Blue Chip and Flare Gun icons were added to the bottom-right of the World Map to help players keep track of Recall flights and special airdrops. The Event Center layout was reworked, character animation processing was optimized, and debris processing during Sanhok building destruction was cleaned up to reduce hitching.
Notable Fixes
A long list of bug fixes accompanied the patch. Among them, inventory space no longer affected vehicle trunk usage, rejoin ranked match results were recorded properly, players could not enter ADS while carrying another player, the Motorbike dashboard speed now matched actual speed, and melee weapons could not be swung abnormally fast under certain conditions. Other fixes targeted ziplining onto a pan, muzzle attachment spawns in Erangel, scope reticles vanishing in Miramar's Sandstorm, and several clothing clipping issues.
All told, Update 35.2 served up a mix of strategic depth, map consistency, and polish. Whether a player was making a beeline for Taego, hiding a ride with camo netting, or smashing pots on Erangel, there was something new to shake up the usual drop routine.
